On trigger warnings

I’ve seen some articles and comments online complaining about the growing prevalence of trigger warnings recently. I suspect few or none of those complaining have ever suffered from PTSD, paranoid anxiety, or the like. While I agree that trigger warnings aren’t necessary in most situations, there are two where I think they’re practically mandatory: Anything potentially disturbing going into a social media feed, and anything being shown to an audience with one or more member who is known to have issues which could be triggered by the content. The first is important because it can easily reach the screen of a vulnerable person in their sanctuary when their defenses are low. The second should be obvious.
